Parekh made his return to the NHL in a game between two Canadian teams that are having rough seasons. The one that didn’t want to be bad won this matchup. Fun fact: William Nylander was born in Calgary. I’m mentioning that because he had a homecoming. One giveaway is all it took to break the ice. Huby’s awful pass set up Nylander’s breakaway that gave Toronto their first lead. William Nylander continued causing problems for the Flames when he outworked Frost for the puck and set up Macceli who was somehow all alone in front of Wolf. Then Nylander set up Toronto’s 3rd goal after a pulling Whitecloud away from Wolf. Kadri led the charge in a comeback attempt and got the Flames back in this game. After that, the Leafs went into a shell and just let the Flames attack. Woll made a save of the year candidate when he fumbled the puck and had to make a diving save to keep their lead. Coronato hit a million posts. It was nuts. The Leafs still hung on. Toronto owes Woll and Myers some drinks.
