“The battle of the tanks in Winnipeg and, shockingly, Vancouver nearly lost that battle and came oh so close to winning this game. Still, they saw the real prize, reverted who they were and found a way to give Winnipeg the win. The result itself shouldn’t be a surprise considering they got bulldozed by the Jets. There’s plenty of reasons why Vancouver manages to keep it close, but one guy that deserves a ton of credit is Linus Karlsson. Continuing the trend of guys with the last name “Karlsson” being great in the NHL, he was the driving force behind Vancouver’s opportunistic, by circumstance, offense. This continues his run of being one of the few bright spots for Vancouver’s horrendous season. The Jets had a really tough time breaking through Kevin Lankinen. They had to wear down the Canucks skaters to do it. Scheifele led the way in that regard and helped his team get many chances and eventually win while helping Morrissey become the Jets’ all-time leading scorer for defensemen.”
