“The Red Wings finally wake up and get a crucial victory while looking fantastic in the in the 2nd and 3rd periods. I think they also knew that they’re going to need some help to make the playoffs so they did everything in their power to demoralize the Flyers, especially their goalies. Prior to that, the stakes were clear. Both Detroit and Philadelphia are still desperate to end their playoff droughts and they played with that desperation. The Flyers looked all out of sorts to start the game, but found a way to bounce back in the first and outplayed them after Detroit scored on a powerplay 2 minutes in after a dumb Michkov penalty. I personally thought the Flyers were about to take over and dig Detroit’s grave. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It was Detroit that did the grave digging. Except Detroit couldn’t throw the Flyers in there so they instead taunted them with it. Seider made his case for the Norris with great defense and 5 points and Larkin got an ever-important hat trick.”
