“Very valuable win with the Astros’ loss today and the Rangers can thank the Orioles for blowing it. DeGrom was brilliant. Aside from an early home run from Jackson Holiday, he only allowed 2 hits in 5 innings of work while striking out 9. Then the bullpen came in and got better as the game went on. Gary balanced on a tightrope, Silseth and Quantrill cruised to victory. Still, I wouldn’t have been able to celebrate if not for what happened in the bottoms. Sometimes all you gotta do is make the least mistakes and Gunnar’s throwing error gave the Rangers the winning run. However, thanks to the Rangers lineup struggling, I couldn’t be comfortable with just a 1-run lead, despite our sterling record in those types of games. Wolfram was 1 strike away from sending us to the 9th with just a 1 run lead, but Foscue worked a walk, as did Langford and Corey Seager drove the dagger through Baltimore’s heart. Don’t ever doubt Mr. October in clutch moments. That took away all the tension in the 9th. ”
