The Bruins earn a hard-fought gritty win against their eternal rival despite one man imposing his will. Goal Caufield scored the 2nd hat trick of his career. He is the first Hab to score on against Boston since 2009. Even better, he scored each goal in a different ways. The first one showed off his speed, as he glided through the Bruins neutral zone line and scored thanks to a crisp pass. That was the difference after the 1st and Boston tied it it in the 2nd. Caufield then used his power for the next goal. Swayman was sliding and right when he lost the puck for half a second, Caufield used his clapper to beat a scrambling Swayman. Pasta then made one of the prettiest plays and set up Geekie for the tying goal. Caufield said “not on my watch”. Caufield used his precision and perfectly placed a wrister over his shoulder for the hat trick. Sadly, it didn’t matter. Boston never gave up and Geekie scored the winner with a goal nobody saw. Anti-climactic, sure, but still a great game.
