@FlameRaptorRaven's rating of Islanders vs Sharks

@FlameRaptorRaven rated the Islanders vs Sharks game 8.4 out of 10 in NHL on March 8, 2026. Final score: Islanders 2 – Sharks 1. Reg. Season. Fan ratings and discussion on RateGame.

Despite the lack of goals, this was a great game between two young teams eager to break their playoff droughts. Very tight matchup and neither goaltender was giving up an inch. Sorokin was brilliant as he always is, but Askarov was a pleasant surprise. For all the struggles he has had this season, this was a genuine display of his potential, even with the loss. Speaking of talented youngsters, Macklin Celebrini did it again with a well-placed laser to beat Sorokin. With all this in mind, I’m sure you can guess who scored for the Islanders. Tony DeAngelo, obviously. The Sharks pushed hard for a winner late in the 3rd, but to no avail, so we got overtime. OT was great, close to the ideal in a brief 3-on-3. Back-and-forth with plenty of chances. All it took was a perfect pass from Matthew Schaefer to send Bo Horvat away from the breakaway where he scored the goal that won this game. Very excited to see where both these teams go the next few seasons.
