“Texas and BYU was a very intriguing matchup. BYU didn’t have Richie Saunders, but they still had Dybantsa. You had 2 really good offenses going against each other so despite the seed differences, this was a matchup that could go either way. Which offense would get hot at the right time? The answer was Texas. Texas managed to pull away with a hot streak in the 2nd half. Although you can’t count out AJ Dybantsa. He wasn’t going to go down without giving everything he had. He had 35 points, next closest teammate had 12 points. He literally scored more than half of his team’s points. He scored 15 points consecutive points for BYU at one point. This game did wonderful things for his draft stock I imagine. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to win this game. It was close tho, as Texas went ice cold to open the door for a 9-2 run in the final minutes for BYU. Pope’s late 3 runs was huge in preventing the choke. Despite his missed free throws, Vokie played a big role in securing this dub.”
