“The playoff atmosphere that could’ve existed in this game got ripped away and replaced with a Flyers’ coronation almost immediately, even though it is technically preemptive. The Flyers were genuinely really fun to watch as they tore the Jets apart and propelled Edmonton to the playoffs despite their loss today. Maybe I’m biased because of all the fun playoff clinching matchups, but I was just begging for this game to end by the time the 2nd period ended. The Flyers, as a team, could’ve been playing Subway Surfers for 20 minutes and I’m convinced Vladar either would’ve given them the win or been able to join his teammates as the Jets just decide to go home. Sounds harsh, but it felt like the Jets resigned themselves to their fate. Couturier had a vintage performance and Martone continues to fit like a charm in the Flyers’ lineup, providing an extra spark to an offense that had been struggling. The 1st was pretty fun to watch and the rest of the game was just me waiting for the end. ”
