“Damn. So close. I've still never seen a Red Sox pitcher throw a no-hitter in my life. Closest anyone's gotten in recent memory. Still a great outing by Ranger Suarez, after allowing that hit to allow runners on 2nd and 3rd with only one out, he settled back down and got the second out. He then walked the next guy, and was taken out for Justin Slaten with the bases loaded and two outs. Ranger Suarez has been very inconsistent this year but when he has a good game he is near unhittable. Shotuout Slaten for getting out of the jam. On the hitting end, things were good. Caleb Durbin is starting to look better, hitting another homer. And Marcelo Mayer came up big, my personal favorite hitter on the Sox, he had a big 2 RBI knock. Mayer then had an RBI double in the 9th to get 3 RBIs on the day. Great to see from Marcelo. Great win to start this series out in Seattle.”
