“Day 4 begins with a close game in what is hopefully a sign for how the rest of the games will go. The first half was excellent, the 2nd half was okay. Miami swarmed Purdue early to go up 5-0 before a minute passed. The Boilermakers picked themselves up after that haymaker and managed to keep up with the Hurricanes. Both teams were going back-and-forth with their prolific offenses, although Miami had the upper hand more often than not in the first half. Going into halftime, both teams were shooting well-above 50% from all areas and both were shooting around 50% from 3. This game would come down to which offense would cool off first. Ironically, it was Miami who showed cracks. Most notably with their 3-point shooting that fell off a cliff while Purdue’s shooting only a dropped off a tiny bit as they managed to escape this game with a dub. Braden Smith continued to add to his assist record with 8 tonight. Loyer and Kaufman-Renn appreciated that as they both put up good games.”
