“My god this game was insanity at the Azteca! For the first time in over a decade, Mexico has lost a competitive match at this monolith of Mexican football, but it was very far from simple. It took a bit of time, but the craziness eventually reared its head in the first half. 2 quick Bellingham goals in less than 2 minutes to give England a devastating lead shortly before halftime. Surely a killer to Mexico, right? Wrong. Mexico finds a goal off the foot of Quinoñes to cut the deficit to 1 right before halftime. 3 goals in about 5 minutes. Yet that wasn’t the craziest part. Quansah commits a wild foul that causes the benches to come to blows and gets him sent off with a red. Mexico had life only for an England penalty to give England momentum then Mexico got one of their own! The last 30 minutes was Mexico attacking a double decker bus! Mexico had a few close calls, but England defended strong and hung on for the win. The beef was real, the drama was real and the insanity was VERY REAL.”
