“Amazing rally by the Rockies in the top of the ninth. While they don't have much in their lineup, they certainly have speed. Mickey Moniak singled, Troy Johnston walked, and then with the corners in, Jake McCarthy dropped an absolutely perfect bunt to load the bases with no outs. Then Kyle Karros with a broken bat single up the middle to score two. Hell yeah man. This is the type of stuff I stay up past 1:30 AM for. But of course Jordan Romano had to make it interesting. Runners on 2nd and 1st with 1 out, Carrigg barely misses a diving catch, and then technically they got 2 weird outs to end the game since the umpires never made a call. The call on the field was a catch, but no ump called it at the time. Runners had no idea what to do. Just a wild situation. The runners ended up all getting 1 base because of it, loading the bases with only 1 out. Then a sac fly and a walk. 1 run game, bases loaded, 2 outs, bottom 9th. This is what we live for. And a first pitch grondout. What a game.”

Francisco Alvarez with a big 2 home run game. However, he isn't the Francisco the Mets need to step up. Yes, of course some good hitting from Alvarez is a big help, but they need their stars to shine. Juan Soto's doing it, now they need Francisco Lindor to step up. This season does seem dead, and then even more dead considering the fact that I just checked the standings and the only team in the National League worse than them is the Colorado Rockies. Yeah so I thought they had a chance at making a great late season run to the playoffs, but uh...no. I really don't know what the Mets need at this point. They've spent big money, they go and make big trades for guys like Freddy Peralta, and yet it just never seems to come together. At this point I think they need to prioritize young player development, bring guys up through the farm system, have them play together, and maybe that will make them a better team in the majors. But its clear something needs to change within the organization.

I love the All-Star game. The MLB All-Star game is so much better than the NBA and NFL's. Even though it was the Yankees players coming up big in the first inning, still was great to see the American League get a win. It was beautiful to see Mike Trout playing in this game. Man he really had the potential to become the greatest baseball player ever. If the Angels could give him a championship team and he stayed healthy, he would be the greatest player in MLB history when he retired. I really hope this isn't his last All-Star game, he deserves to stay healthy and be in more. I personally loved having both the pitcher and catcher mic'd up in the second inning. I am fully in support of having guys mic'd up nearly every inning, but it's better when its guys in the field rather than in the dugout. Great win for my American League, noahd's National League loses and that makes me happy. Great job by Aroldis Chapman getting a couple outs in the 9th as well.
