Dallas asserts Central Division supremacy in the Western Conference. It wasn’t pretty. Vegas just couldn’t leave this game without at least a pity point. Like a certain Leafs fan once said “IT WAS 4-1!” Unlike the Leafs, blowing a 4-1 lead didn’t lead to also losing the game. This game was pretty tight most of the way. The 1st period personified this tightness almost perfectly. The only goal was scored by Jamie Benn because Adin Hill slid all the way past the goal and close to the side boards, leaving the net exposed. After over 20 minutes of play, it only took a bad bounce off of Marner’s foot to set up Vegas’s first goal. Ironically, Dallas would take over for a bit after that. Specifically, Mavrik Bourque would take over, scoring a couple goals while taking advantage of a scrambling team caught on their heels. Johnston would make it 4-1 which led to Vegas tying it up in the last minute of the 3rd with a zip from the blue line from a former Leaf. Ironic. The OT and shootout were meh.
