“Matthew Boyd with 10 K's in 5.2 IP is the story of this game. Unless you wanna just talk about the weather ;). Cold game, no Home Runs, just old school base hit baseball in this one. One thing I love about watching the Cubs is their ability to know how they need to play on a specific day, not just including how the are going to approach the opposing pitcher, but how they are going to approach the weather, especially in these early season games when its usually colder outside. This team excels in the ability to flip the switch and say, " hey guys, we know we cant go for the big shots today, so play small ball. " and we have the guys to do it. Nico Hoerner with a 3/5 day is the perfect example of this.”
