Chicago jumped out early, taking advantage of a couple of ugly Commanders turnovers. Caleb Williams looked poised for most of the night, moving the ball well and connecting on some big throws, especially the 55-yard touchdown to D’Andre Swift, who was easily the spark of the offense. Swift ran hard all night and gave Chicago the kind of balance they’ve been missing. But as the game went on, Jayden Daniels started to take over for Washington. He looked calm and confident, throwing three touchdown passes and showing flashes of why everyone’s been so high on him this season. Every time Chicago thought they had control, Daniels made a play to pull the Commanders back in it. When Washington took a late 24–22 lead, it felt like the Bears were about to fold.
