“Everyone involved in this game should be ashamed. The ref, ashamed at his obvious inability to control the game, players, or coaches. Paraguay, ashamed for what might be the worst case of time wasting and embellishment I have seen in a long time. Almiron, ashamed for being sent off for such a silly reason, something he knew was bound to result in a red card. And of course, Turkyie, ashamed for a joke of a performance. Up a man for the entire second half, but unable to capitalize on such an advantage. Either their Coach is unqualified, or the players didn’t listen, because, while being up a man, there is NO EXCUSE for taking repeated long-shots. All they needed to do was hold possession, wear Paraguay down, and find that incisive pass. A game of shame for everyone. A fun game, but terrible from a footballing perspective.”
