“This was a mostly slow game that heated up in the 3rd and became a nail biter at the very end, but in the worst way. This matchup felt very familiar and it is somehow still possible we could get this playoff matchup AGAIN. The Kings played their standard stingy defensive game while relying on their few playmakers to drive offense while the Oilers tried to blitz the Kings to hell and back and break them down. The Kings just didn’t break. Even when they basically parked the bus and just started icing the puck every time they got it in the last 2 minutes, they still hung on. They still needed some offense and a bad Bouchard giveaway and worse back check gave that to Artemi Panarin. The most notable part to come from this game is the fact we have another Bouchard GIF that we will talk about for like 24 hours. People will rant about how bad his defense is and how he can’t win the Norris(still true). Then we’ll collectively remember his offense. Brandt Clarke deserves credit. 7 blocked shots”
