“Rating Random Games Anyone Gives Me Part 21: Two meh teams played a meh basketball game. I can't really find any way this affected basketball history. Yeah, that's what you thought I would say. After this game, Oregon State sorta just reached flow state. They were 6-5. The rest of the season, they won all the games they were expected to win and lost all the games they were expected to lose. But if they lost this game, that would've lit a fire under them. They'd be below .500 with something to prove. They played Santa Clara twice the rest of the year. Had they won those, Santa Clara maybe snuck in as an 11 seed. But we wouldn't have had that instant classic between Kentucky and Santa Clara. Maybe Kentucky rolls through their first round game, and keeps that going into their game against Iowa State and wins that. Who knows how far they go?”
