Fantastic game. Detroit started with an absolutely disgusting powerplay. The flow with the passing game was beautiful and it got the goal it deserved off a Raymond snipe. Speaking of Raymond, he was incredible. Plus, since he wasn’t playing an Ontario team, nobody was trying to kill him. The first 2 periods were good, but this game ramped up in the 3rd. The Wild locked-in. They immediately showed the type of play that makes them so scary on paper. It led to a goal less than 2 minutes into the 3rd. Minnesota continued being relentless on the counter-attack and the Red Wings barely prevented them from getting more. Still, all it took was one good chance and JVR gave the Wings the lead back. The Wild kept up their attack. Their fast counter-attacks and possession beat Detroit again to tie it up. Wild generally got the better of them, but Detroit made a push in the final minutes, DeBrincat missed a golden opportunity on a breakaway. Kirill the Thrill ended it with the first shot in OT.
