“Those black leaf Canadian jerseys looked amateurish compared to the classic colors and tailoring of Czechia's, it made them look like an intramural team going up against professionals. But despite the looks, these teams were on par. You wouldn't have been able to tell Czechia had been shutout in their previous meeting. In fact some of Canada's goals seemed like God had his hands on the puck, Suzuki's tying shot threading the needle between Dostál's legs particularly outrageous. But Marner's overtime winner was just pure skill, even while surrounded on all sides by Czech. The devastation on team Czechia's bench was palpable, a demoralizing killshot.”
