“The Flames and Sabres played… a game of hockey. If you just looked at the shots and goals, you’d think this was a barn-burner. But look at the penalty minutes and you’ll see the story was very different. Idk what beef these teams have with each other, but it felt like I was watching two bitter foes have their matchups culminate in one matchup where tensions boil over. Even Wolf was joining in the fights, we sadly did not get a goalie fight between a Wolf and Lyon. Instant 10 if that had happened. On a more positive note, this is the first game Calgary has scored more than 5 goals this season. This is also the first game Calgary has won when their opponent has scored more than 3 goals, yes, really. Sharky also gets a goal in back-to-back games, Yan Kuznetsov gets his 2nd career goal, Ras gets another goal, Kadri gets 3 points and I could go on. The point is: this was a very weird, very chaotic, very bitter, but pretty fun game despite the many MANY penalties and stoppages in play.”
