“If you only looked at the final score, you would have no idea what actually happened in this game. It was like both lineups were saving all their runs for extras, little did we know Miami brought over the runs they didn’t use last night. I had a hunch Sandy Alcantara was going to have a good day and boy was I right. Nick Martinez wasn’t much worse, but the only thing that held Sandy back was all the errors from the defense behind him. Those mistakes prevented him from having a true shutout, but 7 innings with no earned runs brought me back to 2022 Sandy. It looked like the Marlins were going to hang on for the win, only for the errors to cost them once again as Mullins ran home for the game tying run in the bottom of the 9th. It was easy to think this game would be one of the better games of the season. Marlins immediately took away any ambiguity of who would win with 8 runs in the top of the 10th. Rays futilely tried to make the comeback. Pitching was cool, but the extras had no drama”
