“This game was absolute anarchy and that made it both entertaining as hell and also a nightmare to follow. This was another game where both teams needed points. Neither team could afford to lose or else their World Cup dream would die. With how poorly both sides had started the World Cup, a good start in this game would be invaluable. Paraguay took that to heart and scored right away off a well placed shot from Matías Galarza just 2 minutes in. With how strong Paraguay is defensively, this is the ideal scenario for them, which set us up for 90 minutes of chaos Paraguay is most responsible, in a good way, mostly. They did a terrific job holding off Turkey’s attack and made sure most of their shots were non-threatening. However, Alimiron’s red card right before halftime forced Paraguay to go full-on park the bus mode. Meaning Turkey would get to take chance after chance that Paraguay either stopped or watched Turkey blow. Granted, the ref having 0 control of this game did not help at all”
