“Playoff OT is playoff OT and playoff OT is always fun, no matter if my preferred meteor is taking too long to arrive. More importantly, we got a damn good game out of it. Between you and me, I’m surprised Anaheim managed to hang around for so long, but that’s the benefit of having a good goalie. Despite that, the story of this game will be Dorofeyev. It’s ironic after all the talk about Marner’s legacy game, Dorofeyev may have had his own right after. I’ll give Anaheim credit, the jumped and flapped their wings all over the Knights early and managed to take the first lead because of it. Dorofeyev tied it up and Hertl broke his drought to give Vegas the lead. Even though they weren’t able to extend their lead, it felt inevitable, at least to me. Which is why it was shocking when Anaheim managed to tie it up. It could’ve been a deflating and crushing blow to Vegas, but luckily for them, Dorofeyev was in the right place at the right time for Eichel to set him up for the game winning goal.”
