“The Marlins offense did not come through in this game to back up the good pitching. They also had an important missed opportunity that was squandered. There were also questionable decisions by Clayton McCullough when he emptied the bench on four straight pinch hitters, including taking out both people who were included in the back to back doubles to get the Marlins their first run (Owen Caissie and Graham Pauley). The Marlins have still had a very successful month up to this point (18-6) and look to improve on this month with their next series in Colorado. They play four games there before ending the ten game road trip against the Athletics. Should be an interesting road trip to see if they can continue to play at the level they have recently.”
