Great afternoon game between 2 great teams. The Sabres keep finding ways to beat the odds. Tonight, they overcame light of Minnesota’s elite goaltending. It wasn’t Wallstedt, it was Gustavsson, still impressive as the Wild had the puck more often than not. Sabres had to make the most of their chances and they did. 1st period was mostly Minnesota until Zucker laid off a great pass on a rush chance and McLeod eventually finished it off. The 2nd period was insane and even more lopsided, yet the Sabres still found a way to keep up. A tip-in from Krebs, scrappy rebound from Quinn and a great shot from Tuch in the span of 6 minutes gave Buffalo the lead, only for Quinn Hughes to tie it up with a blast less than a minute later. Even with the Wild missing multiple good players, they were still in control against Buffalo. 3rd period was a fast paced stalemate and nobody could break the tie, so we got overtime. In OT, the Wild entered with a powerplay and Kaprizov set up Zucc to end it.
