“Stamkos returns home and Tampa welcomes him back by giving the Predators a crushing loss. It started out good for Nashville. After a bit of back-and-forth, they got a feel-good moment. Joakim Kemell scored his first NHL goal off a deflection. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for the Lightning to answer back with the rare Guentzel goal off a wrist shot. Although it did come thanks to him being in the perfect position, very Guentzel-esque. Through the 1st and 2nd, I’d say the game was pretty even, maybe Tampa had a slight edge, but it was negligible. That would change in the 3rd when Nashville flatlined for most of it. Somehow, after Tampa scored, they scored just 20 seconds later thanks to Filip Forsberg. Of course, the hockey gods must smite Nashville so Corey Perry of all people tipped in the game winner. Nashville woke up from their coma in the final minutes, but couldn’t find a winner. Guentzel was obviously the MVP of this game. Contributing to every goal will do that. ”
