“This game is one of those reminders I get once in a while. No matter how much ball knowledge I accumulate, no matter how much studying I do, there are a times when my overthinking and/or ignorance causes me to not know ball, even if it’s brief. Sweden entered this game having been bad for 90% of qualifiers while Tunisia qualified easily because their group in African qualifiers was a total joke. I thought this was a battle of 2 of the worst teams in the tournament. Instead, Sweden looked like their last 10% was for real. They jumped on Tunisia early and often primarily thanks to a kid who looks like he could be the breakout star of the tournament. Ayari was already a pretty good young player with Brighton, but this game had him looking like a superstar, especially that first goal, what a shot. He just played Tunisia like a fiddle from beginning to end. To rub salt in Tunisia’s wound, one of Atari’s parents is Tunisian. Aesthetically pleasing, but one-sided from start to finish. ”
