“Pretty good game, albeit a game that lacked anything truly special beyond a strong pitching performance. The Rangers finally scrapped out a win in this series against the juggernaut Dodgers thanks to brilliant pitching and timely hitting in a matchup that pales in composition to the classic we had at the very start. At first, it looked bleak. Ohtani hitting a first pitch homer on our best starter to start the game is never a good start unless your team’s announcer uses to be Vin Scully. Luckily, that resilience they have shown throughout this series never went away and Evan Carter, who is definitely our most underrated player so far this season, matched Ohtani with his own 1st pitch homer in the 3rd. DeGrom also made up for his poor first pitch by locking down the rest of LA’s lineup. He looked like himself again, his Rangers self I should say (please give us Mets DeGrom again). Nimmo continues to be a brilliant acquisition and Jung gave him the chance to drive in a runner twice. ”
