Tampa Bay win this one with a lot more trouble than I was expecting. Despite Tampa completely dominating possession, shot totals and the quality of chances, it took nearly 2 full periods for Tampa to score, literally a minute away. I’m still shocked it took so long for Tampa to break through. It wasn’t Spencer Knight stonewalling the Lightning, it was Arvid Soderblom writing a redemption arc. Soderblom prior to tonight was one of the worst goalies in the NHL by any measure. Thanks to Arvid’s efforts, it was 1-1 after 2. The Lightning were all over the Blackhawks through 2 periods. Idk if the Lightning got gassed or if the Blackhawks composed themselves, but the Lightning weren’t able to throw off Chicago as much in the 3rd. That gave use overtime and that shit was bonkers. The Blackhawks did a fantastic job hanging onto the puck and testing Vasilevsky. They just couldn’t finish their chances, Burakovsky even flubbed an open net. Tampa finally solved Arvid in the shootout, thanks to 86
