“An efficient Volkswagen against a Ferrari that is on fire (not in a good way). The Volkswagen escape with the win in this intense race to the finish. Bayern Munich is a machine. Vincent Kompany and has merged his ruthless tactics with the German giant’s efficiency to create a force. Madrid got a big taste of that combination in the first half, with Bayern mostly dictating the play, leading to a Luis Diaz goal. Heck, Bayern doubled their lead at the start of the 2nd half. Then something happened, a shift. Madrid began taking the reins and the flames surrounding them began fuelling their vehicle. So Bayern had to rely on an old friend. Manuel Neuer, despite being 40-years-old, saved the day for Munich. He made save after save, cut off run after run and was vital in helping Bayern walk away with a win in leg 1. Olise deserves all the flowers he is going to get, as does Kane. However, I think Mbappe and Vinicius were great too, especially in that 2nd half. They just ran into a great keeper”
