“This was a really close low scoring game, and then the Diamondbacks really started to run away with it. Both pitchers were great through six innings, but Matt Wilkinson ran into some traffic in the seventh. He was pulled, and Arizona made San Francisco pay with a Lars Nootbaar hit a grand slam to blow this game open! Merrill Kelly ended up with 7 shutout innings while only allowing 2 hits! Both of these teams ended up exchanging runs in the eighth before the Snakes added on some more insurance in the ninth as the Giants could never recover! This was a very weird win for the Diamondbacks to start the double header in a great way!”
