“Boise State had their one year with Ashton Jeanty, and then afterwards just fell off. Started the season ranked but then lost to USF and just never seemingly recovered. Obviously they played in a weak Mountain West, and were solid enough to go 8-4 in the regular season and beat UNLV in the Mountain West championship game for the second year in a row, but it just wasn't the same team without Jeanty. As expected, when you lose a top two Heisman contender, in my opinion should've won it, especially as a G5 team that can't replenish talent the way the powerhouses can, you're going to be considerably worse.”
