“The weirdest game of this series; only because it was neither 1. an all-time classic and 2. A game that came down to the wire. Well, it technically went down to the wire, but the Hurricanes weren’t in real danger with a 2 goal lead, even for a series as crazy as this one. This game being uncharacteristic was the theme. The Hurricanes had the rare slow start only to recover when Jordan Staal put himself into NHL lore, becoming 1 of just 4 players ever to score a goal in each of the first 5 games in a Cup Final. Getting that goal seemingly awoke a demon in the Hurricanes because they proceeded to do something they never could: dominate the 2nd period. Idk if Torts told his team to go throw some cheap shots, but it felt like Vegas was only concerned with hurting the Hurricanes. I’m not trying to say Carolina is innocent, instead, Vegas was being a bunch of morons and taking penalties left and right. It bit them in the ass as Carolina ran away with the 2nd. Bussi held it down in the 3rd. ”
