The Whalers get the rare dub against the Nordiques, making their all-time record 39-55-18 against them. This game immediately gets a boost in the rating because of the immaculate vibes. The jerseys are so clean and the old-school broadcast touches made me smile. I also love that, just for tonight, it’s the Quebec Nordiques against the Hartford Whalers. Very nice touch that makes these alternate jersey nights fun. Say what you want about those teams, they nailed their branding back in the day, absolutely timeless. Alright, enough raving about aesthetics. Hartford peppered Wedgewood early and often. This caused him to get chased. Trent Miner came in and the rookie kept Quebec in it. Nordiques tried desperately to tie it up with Frederik Andersen holding the line until Nichuskin scored his 2nd and tied the game which gave us OT. That OT was NUTS with all the power plays. Only thing that holds this back is the shootout. Even with Freddy coming up huge for Hartford. No revenge for Necas
