A rematch of last year’s conference finals and Carolina clearly came in with bitter feelings. Idk if Rod the Bod instilled this mentality into them or the players were just bitter themselves, but after a brief 5 minutes of even play, Carolina completely outclassed the Panthers. They lived up to their reputation as Corsi gods by getting many shots and Ehlers finally broke the deadlock in the final minutes, Bobrovsky couldn’t stop them all despite his best efforts. Even with that, Panthers showed life almost immediately in the 2nd period and tied the game. Rod and the Hurricanes clearly took that personally and went back to dominating. Sean Walker showed the lack of fear in Raleigh by hitting Boqvist hard which the Panthers didn’t like (shocker) and Sebrango challenged Walker to a fight. Admittedly the fight sucked, but it set the tone. Carolina wasn’t backing down. Shot attempts were 48-16 after 2 periods. I don’t think I need to say more, you see the score. 3rd period was pure comedy.
