Was too consumed by the powers of hockey to give this a full watch. Luckily, I did witness Peyton Watson’s dunk on Chet. Fittingly, it came from a Jokic assist. It was an omen of what this game would be like for Denver. Jokic had a more reserved performance, at least by his standards. Didn’t shoot poorly, just didn’t shoot a ton. Jamal Murray ironically celebrated his first all-star appearance by shooting 25% from the field. He still contributed with his 2-man game with Jokic, but couldn’t find his shot. Credit/blame whoever on the Thunder. Watson took the role as finisher and nearly put up 30 points. Most nights, that probably wins considering Chet was not having a good time when not shooting a free throw. It’s an easy joke, but speaking of free throws, SGA put up 34 and Cason Wallace’s 27 points was the spark that OKC needed to keep Denver at arm’s length all game long. Side note: big fan of seeing Valančiūnas become Jokic’s backup. Always gonna root for that guy and he played well.
