“These are the games I come to expect with the Rangers. Close, low scoring and dominated by good pitching on both sides (or lineup incompetence if you’re mean and/or angry). The main difference tonight is Texas actually managed to win. DeGrom got a much-needed bounce back game after some bad luck for win #100 as a Rangers and the bullpen (mostly) shoved, special shoutout to our other Jacobs/Jakobs, Junis and Latz, for getting the job done. Clearly the Rangers need to sign more Jacobs who can pitch, that’s clearly our secret sauce. Jokes aside, the pitching was great as it usually is and the lineup did just enough to make sure they were rewarded with a dub. Ezequiel Duran has been such a pleasant surprise this season. Man isn’t an elite hitter by any means, but he has become a contact machine enough times to be one of our better hitters this season. .800 OPS is .800 OPS and he came through with 3 hits, including an RBI double. Joc keeps saving his best for late, better late than never.”
