Another terrible start from Kutter Crawford, allowing 6 runs in less than 4 innings and failing to complete the sweep. The rotation that had been so good to start the season was falling apart in the 2nd half. Got absolutely dominated by Cole Ragans, honestly not all that surprising. The 2024 lineup wasn't very good and Cole Ragans is a great pitcher. I've been high on him for a while now. He's been hurt this year but I expect him to come back next season, or 2028, after the lockout, and get right back to the way he was before and be a great pitcher. All the offense the Sox got in this one was a 3-run home run off the bat of Romy Gonzalez and a solo home run off the bat of Danny Jansen.

Sox with an incredible extra inning thriller to-for a few hours-take Sox fans' minds off the fact that we were one loss from our 3rd straight postseason on the couch. Trevor Story with a huge RBI double in the 10th then Connor Wong with an RBI groundout and for the 2nd straight day Vaughn Grissom did something useful giving us an insurance run we ended up badly needing. For some reason Zach Penrod was pitching the bottom of the 10th with our season on the line and as soon as he started to blow out Chase Shugart came in clutch for a fun victory.
