Hockey Day in Canada continues and we got a spectacle. First 10 minutes was all Montreal and Slaf made the Sens pay with an early goal. Even when the Senators evened out the play, they couldn’t stop a Canfield laser. 1st period was fast paced and mostly one-sided. How do they follow that up? Tkachuk whips home a goal less than a minute in and Tim Stutzle glides in and scores a top-shelf between the legs goal less than 3 minutes later. That’ll inject life into any team losing at-home. Ottawa took firm control of this game after that masterpiece. Josh Anderson tried to sedate Ottawa with a goal and Cozens responded quickly with a goal of his own. When Montana’s best hockey product scored to put Ottawa up 5-3, I thought it was over. Too bad Montreal’s coach is familiar with being an underdog, Slaf and Carrier scored 2 goals in about a minute to tie the game and snatch momentum. We got an intense back and forth OT, after the Habs nearly won it in regulation, where Goal Caufield ended it.
