Not super interesting, except for the fact that one of my favourite Cowboy stories is reflected in this game. In 1993, Emmitt Smith wanted a new contract after helping the Cowboys win a Super Bowl. However, Jerry Jones refused to give Smith what he wanted, so he held out through 2 games. The Cowboys lost both those games, averaged less than 100 rushing yards and the replacements fumbled repeatedly. Realizing his mistake, Jerry Jones gave Emmitt what he wanted. After that, the Cowboys went undefeated, Smith won MVP, led the NFL in rushing and won Super Bowl MVP as the Boy went back-to-back. This could’ve been so much easier had Jerry Jones gotten out of his own way. Clearly not learning anything from that situation, in a move that I have to assume was forced by Jerry himself, both Lamb and Pickens, the Cowboys’ 2 best weapons, and were sat during the first drive. That first drive went 6 yards and the two receivers were put back into the lineup and you can guess what happened next.
