Admittedly, it ended anti-climatically thanks to a couple late penalties, but still a good game overall, just one sullied by what happened in the final minutes. The rematch of the best playoff series last year and ironically, both teams have become victims of the bloodbath that is the Central division. Despite this being a game between a goalie who is the reigning MVP, Connor Hellebuyck and, a goalie who has struggled this season, Joel Hofer, this game was a goalie duel. Both H-name goalies really showed up for their teams. Hofer was not only rock solid but really feeling himself when it came to handling the puck with his stick. I only bring this up because Sportsnet couldn’t stop bringing this up which I thought was kinda funny and low-key annoying. But Hofer did genuinely have a great game, as did Hellebuyck. Justin Faulk’s goal was the key difference and the unc defenseman continues his recent hot streak.
