“I don’t know if my brain is just melting from all the note-taking I have done, but the first half zoomed by… mostly. The first 15 minutes had great flow and was fast-paced. Not many stoppages nor methodical offenses, which didn’t mean either offense was thriving, in fact, both offenses were struggling to find their groove. For Illinois, they were relying hard on those seconds chances. At first, it looked like this game would come down to a duel between Illinois’s Mirkovic and Pennsylvania’s Zanoni. Both were very clearly leading the way offensively and both thrived in each team’s respective method of scoring. There is 1 factor I did not account for. Illinois started hitting more of their shots. They kept gobbling SO MANY REBOUNDS and Pennsylvania was helpless to stop Illinois as their lead only got bigger and bigger. Mirkovic personified the way Illinois dominated with his super efficient 29 points to go along with his 17 rebounds. Penn was outmatched. Wish the 2nd half had zoomed by.”
