“7.0 for a 70 yard field goal from Cam Little. Absolutely absurd. Unfortunate that it won't go down in the real record books but everyone's accepted that this is the one to beat. The thing is, I think it will be beat. Kickers are continuing to grow stronger and stronger. Even college kickers are starting to hit 60 yard field goals. There used to be a time in college football where not even extra points were automatic. Now, if you can't hit a 50 yard field goal most of the time, there's no chance you'll be a kicker for a Power 5 school. The NFL's introduction of the rule allowing kickers to prepare their own footballs is only going to make these kicks even further. This 70-yard record from Cam Little won't be safe for long.”
