Colorado continues to wreak havoc just like their namesake does in real life, but strangely enough, I expected more. Don’t get me wrong, the Avs jumped on the Blue Jackets and took this game by its horns. However, after the 1st period, it felt like Colorado was almost complacent. On the positive side; that made Trent Miner’s first career shutout even sweeter because it wasn’t a cakewalk for him. In other news, Brent Burns closes in on Bobby Orr on the all-time goals list for defensemen. He is now just 1 goal behind #4 and 7th place all-time. Also, Ilya Solovyov scored his first career goal. As a Flames fan, that warmed my heart, wish it had been with my Flames. While I don’t regret watching this one, I hate to say it, this game was a bit of a bore, in the 3rd especially. However; there were still multiple feel-good moments for me personally that make it so I can’t, in good conscience, put this game in the red. However, that doesn’t mean it gets close to the green.
