“I worked late tonight. 4:30 to 11 p.m., closing shift on a decently busy Friday. Stationed as a greeter. As I stood there hour after hour, I did my best to keep myself in a good mood in case a customer came by. Then, I remembered that the Phillies played late tonight. It was getting quieter as the game began, so as the second inning rolled around, I propped up my phone in a hidden spot, and put on the game. Told a security guy nearby about it, and as he began to watch, Max Muncy hit a solo home run. He laughed it off, saying he jinxed it, and walked away. With my energy waning, I watched as that stupid sexy Shohei Ohtani hit the Dodgers' third homer off of Wheeler. I knew I had to turn it off for now, just to finish my shift. Once it was over and I began to drive home, I cursed as Will Smith extended the lead. I sighed in relief seeing Schwarber break up Wrobleski's no-no bid. Finally putting the game on at home, it ended mercifully. Ugly for the Phillies. Next shift at 11:30 am.”
