“Not the most exciting game ever, but there were some bright spots here, especially the performance of Travis Bazzana who had a nice defensive play and a home run to add a little flourish on top of the earlier two-run homer that gave Australia the uncontested lead. I feel bad for Taiwan, though, their fans had a lot of energy and already coming in with some injuries only to lose their captain from a HBP on the hand is tough. Their pitching was solid— save for the first reliever that immediately gave up the lead— but it didn't help that the umpire had an awful zone (though that affected both teams). Would've liked to see an actual comeback from Taiwan in that last inning where they were threatening a rally, thanks to the exploits of Red Sox legend Yu Chang.”
