“People are always going to hate on a low-scoring game, but I was so impressed by how gritty this Patriots defense was, keeping Herbert and the Chargers limited to a field goal after holding the line in the red zone multiple times. Even though New England's defense were the main factor in victory, the offense still shone through in key moments. Maye's passing wasn't as elite as the regular season, but he still had a couple incredible throws, especially the TD pass to Hunter Henry that was just out of LA's grasp. Maye also continues to make excellent plays on his feet, always surprising when he finds an opening and manages to convert a first down. Maybe this was the first sign that the Patriots were playing a but above themselves, but the fact that they pushed it as far as they did shouldn't go unrecognized.”
