The Banterra Center is the multipurpose arena on the campus of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, home to the SIU Salukis basketball programs of the Missouri Valley Conference. It seats over 8,000 fans and also hosts concerts, commencement, and regional touring shows. Its large bowl gives Salukis basketball one of the bigger home-court capacities in the Missouri Valley. The building anchors SIU's athletics campus alongside the school's other sports facilities.
Built from 1962 to 1964 and known for decades as the SIU Arena, the venue hosted its first Salukis basketball game on December 1, 1964. A $30 million renovation in 2010 modernized the building, and in 2019 it was renamed the Banterra Center under a 10-year naming-rights agreement with Banterra Bank. Through all of that, it has served as the home of Saluki basketball for six decades. It remains one of the longer-running arenas still in continuous use in mid-major college basketball.
