Rice-Eccles Stadium

Rice-Eccles Stadium is the home of the University of Utah Utes football team in Salt Lake City, competing in the Big 12 Conference. It sits on the university's campus near the foothills of the Wasatch Range, with capacity above 51,000 and a bowl design that keeps fans close to the field. Night games in the mountain setting are known for a raucous student section and a scenic backdrop framed by the surrounding peaks.

Rice-Eccles Stadium opened in 1998, replacing the university's earlier Rice Stadium, and served as the centerpiece site of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. That global spotlight left the stadium with an Olympic cauldron tower that still stands as a campus landmark. Since then, it has hosted the Utes' rise from Mountain West power to Pac-12 stalwart and now Big 12 contender, including numerous nationally ranked matchups.
